When you visit Las Vegas, don’t forget to stop by the city’s old downtown area which displays one of the amazing displays of technological gadgetry in the world (to me, anyway).

The old downtown LV has a roof-top large monitor, constructed of “wire mesh” and connected from each end of the roof end of the buildings from along the downtown mall (like Pitt St Mall) on more than 150 meters of stretch spanning 5 streets.

The roof-top show is amazing! On New Year’s Eve, I imagine you would hardly find an inch of open space in this area ~ what with the spectacle that is on offer!

Here are sample footages which I took from my mobile phone I took whilst there in September 2008.

This is the old downtown Las Vegas. If “Binion’s” looks familiar, then you must be my age. This is the familiar scene of the 70’s old action TV series about life in Las Vegas.

See the building on the left? And right? The two buildings (two of the buildings along the mall) are connected by the large sky monitor.
